Christmas Panto

We had a fantastic day today, raising money for Sport Relief.

We began with an assembly, during which Mr Williams was set some sporting challenges by Mr Roberts.

Mr Williams did very well. To quote Mr Roberts, "You are better than you look, Mr Williams!"

Mr Williams managed 53 push ups in 30 seconds.

He then reached a distance of 1m 72cm in the standing long jump.

He made 66 speed jumps in 30 seconds.

Finally managing 31 sit ups in 30 seconds.
Mrs Wilkins had 999 on speed dial!

This afternoon Year 6 organised charity sporting events to raise money for charity.

Unfortunately it was raining so we had to hold the events indoors. Nevertheless, a great time was had by all and a large amount of money was raised. I will let you know the total next week!

Sorry the Kingswood photos have not been posted yet.....Mrs Marlow has my memory card! I will post them as soon as I can.

We are trying to revise lots of strategies which will improve our Literacy. Here are some sites to help!

Today we have been exploring the work 0f Kyffin Williams.

We looked at some of his paintings and discussed his techniques.

We then sketched some landscapes of our own in the style of Kyffin Williams.

Our next step will be to sketch a landscape and use pastels to add colour and texture.

To find our more about Kyffin Williams or to look at some of his work, go to these sites:

Haiti Video

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

We have had a strange half term......first the 'disruption' caused by the snow, followed by panto, panto, panto! In class we have been doing lots of assessments, so nothing very interesting to put on the Blog, I'm sorry.

Today, however, we were given a treat. Dan Mitchell from Richard School of Dance came to school to give us a lesson on cheerleading.
We began by learning some basic moves, while Dan showed us some of his more complicated ones.

Don't try this at home kids! Mrs Davies would have liked a go, but didn't want to show him up!

After an hour our final results were very impressive!
