One of the best ways to empathise with the characters in a story is by working through drama.
Today I read out key parts of Macbeth and asked J8 to freeze frame each situation. We then discussed how each character might feel in that particular scene.

*The traitor Cawdor is executed and King Duncan praises Macbeth
*Duncan makes his son Malcolm his heir, much to Macbeth's anger
*Lady Macbeth summons spirits to give her the strength to kill King Duncan
*Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth that he is a coward
*Macbeth and Banquo have suspicions about each other
*Macbeth enters Duncan's room and prepares to kill the King
*Macbeth tells Lady Macbeth that he has killed Duncan...but is full of guilt
