Last week we discussed the fascinating sights of Paris.

We also discussed the advantages of living in Pontyclun.

We decided that Pontyclun was a nice place in which to live because there are plenty of amenities, a good choice of shops, lots of clubs, e.g .Rugby, football, cricket, swimming.

We decided that it was a pretty area, yet close to the M4 for access to Cardiff.

We are also lucky to be close to all the emergency services and in the catchment area for good schools.

Today we began learning about equivalent fractions by completing a carousel of fraction games.

We played some games on the computer, used board games, number cards and attempted some worksheets.

Some challenges were harder than others.

To help with your understanding of this topic, try the websites below.

Well done Spencer for having your drawing published in The Beano. My father is called Dennis....this looks suspiciously like him!

In P.E today we had to develop and demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in our skills.

We also had to cooperate with others and develop good sportsmanship.

For a warm up we played 'Tag Tastic'.

We then recapped on good quality shoulder and chest passes.

We then worked on our chest pass.

For our end game we played bounce pass relay.

I'm glad my music lessons are SO interesting......why is everyone sleeping????

Actually we were all listening to GAMELAN music.

GAMELAN music comes from Java and Bali.

We looked at some pictures of Gamelan instruments.

We listened to some more cyclic music patterns and sung them.

We then played some cyclic patterns on the tuned instruments and improvised on the drums.

Finally, we performed our pieces in front of the class.

Today J8 had to decide which were our favourite Parisian attractions. We also had to give reasons why. J7 will vote tomorrow.

In a Eurovision style vote we found out which attractions J8 would most like to visit.

Using our Maths skills we had to calculate the scores for each attraction.

Look on a future post for our top eight!

Today we looked at what causes conflict.

We talked about physical and verbal reactions to conflict.

We role-played some scenes in which we argued with each other.

We then discussed what we should have done differently and the difference it would have made.
