Today we visited the Crucial Crew headquarters in Nantgarw, as part of our S.A.F.E. project. It is run by the police in association with the other emergency services. It is an amazing building with lots of hands on reconstruction experiences.
We learnt all about how to cross the road safely and were shocked to find out the stopping distances of cars travelling at various speeds. It really IS 30mph for a reason!!
We were taught about the effects of alcohol on our bodies in this reconstructed pub. The optics only contained water. HONEST!
We found out about the dangers we could encounter if we played on a building site. Hard hats everyone!
We also discussed what to do if we ever had a fire in our homes. Crawling through a simulated fire was quite scary. It was a really good afternoon and we all thoroughly enjoyed such a different learning experience. Thanks very much to the Crucial Crew team and the School Liason Officers who worked hard to make our day enjoyable.
