Rockets Day 2

Today we performed our presentations to the class and were judged by Mrs Davies. The results were very close, as all the children had put in a huge amount of work in a very short time.

The two winning groups were THE TROUBLESOME 4 and STARSTRUCK. Watch the videos on the Blog later.

The children then worked in their groups to chose 10 people that they would like to take with them in their rocket. For extra bonus points they had to come up with interesting people and valid reasons for taking them on their voyage.

One group chose Darth Vader as he knows all about space travel and would be a powerful companion on a space journey.

Harry Hill was a popular choice with several groups as he would entertain them on the journey.

Kim Woodburn was chosen by one group to keep their rocket clean.....She had better come around my house first!

Isaac Newton was chosen by a few groups as they wanted to explore his theory of gravity.

Albert Einstein was another popular choice, as his scientific knowledge would come in handy on a space journey.
The most popular passenger by far was Neil Armstrong. Most groups thought he would be useful as he has experienced space travel, making the first moon landing in 1969.
Other suggestions included Buzz Lightyear for his flying abilities and knowledge of space travel. Jamie Oliver and Gino Di Campo for their cooking skills. Mercedes' grandad to entertain with his singing. Bob the Builder, Postman Pat and Pungu.....don't ask! Mums and Dads were a popular choice in case hugs were needed.....aw! Mr Williams and I were also suggested as passengers, although I wonder whether the plan was to strand us on some distant planet!
