This afternoon we began our music topic.

This term we will be exploring lyrics and melody.

We began by listening to a song called I WANNA SING SCAT

This is a two-part song which we learned very quickly.

At first we only learned the tune and sung this several times.

The song has an OSTINATO (a short rhythmic or melodic phrase which is played repeatedly).

We sung this and also learned to play it on the chime bars.

Then we put the two parts together.

Our efforts were filmed and then played back to us for us to appraise.

Unfortunately J8 didn't get to see their video as the speakers didn't work (top tip - always make sure that your electrical appliances are plugged in if you actually want them to work......especially if you have School Governors in your class watching your lesson...cringe)!

J7 were able to watch both performances once Mrs Davies had sorted out the electrics during play time.

Both videos will be put on the Blog later tonight. Please watch them, as they will be the starting point for our next lesson.
