Today we were posed the question 'WHAT CAUSES POLLUTION IN PARIS?'
We have already discussed the problems of dog and pigeon droppings, so we moved on to other issues. We watched some video clips about traffic pollution.
Click on the link below to watch some interesting video clips.
We also looked at some pictures of pollution in Paris.
Using our COMMUNICATION SKILLS we explored our prior knowledge to write down some of the problems and their causes.

We decided that Paris suffers from too many cars. The roads are very busy and there are not enough parking spaces.
The cars also cause problems as they produce carbon emissions which pollute the air and make breathing difficult for people with asthma.
So much traffic also causes noise pollution.
Carbon emissions also produce acid rain. Paris has many famous monuments which are slowly being destroyed by acid rain. This gargoyle on Notre Dame doesn't look too happy! He's got acid rain AND pigeons to deal with!
We tried to think of some solutions to these problems. Later in the week we will look more closely into these solutions.
