This afternoon we went on a river walk.

First we looked at the confluence of the Elai and the Clun near Ynysddu (after stopping at Louie's house to pick up his wellies).

We met some wierd and wonderful wildlife along the way. I mean Nanook, not Mrs Rose!!

We then sketched and annotated a meander. We looked at erosion, river speed, fast flowing water, slow flowing water and deposition.

We then went onto a river beach to calculate the speed of the river.

Those of us with wellies (and some without....you know who you are!!!!!) went into the river to calculate the speed near the centre.

Surprisingly, no one fell in.....although there were a few slippery moments!

We then walked through the Rugby Club to Maesyfelyn.

Mr Williams found it hard to keep up!

We returned to school via the Ivor Woods, where we saw lots of wild spring garlic. What a lovely smell.

By the time we reached the football field, most of us were shattered and needed a sit down!
