This morning we found a mysterious curtain in class.

Mrs Marlow, our special guest, cut the ribbon to reveal.....a 'flashback factory'!

This contained some items to help us to write short stories with flashbacks

We began by organising the structure of our flashback story using structure cards.

We then opened boxes from the flashback factory which contained : a stimulus - eg. a necklace, a photo frame, a teddy bear etc.
a setting - eg. a charity shop, a car boot sale, an attic etc.
a character.
lots of photos of events, places and memories etc.

We ordered the stimuli in our boxes to fit our flashback plan.

Next, we placed our stimuli on a Mood Map.
We then wrote words and similes to describe the feelings of our character during the flashback sequence.

Next week we will write a short story with flashbacks using the structure and vocabulary from today's lesson.
