Today we learnt about the structure of a balanced argument.

We read a balanced argument and annotated it's key features.

We also looked at the structure.

Paragraph one introduced the subject of the argument.

Paragraph two contained the arguments for.

Paragraph three contained the arguments against.

We then used a structure map to produce the skeleton of our argument.

We had to include connectives, argument devices and rhetorical questions.

We wrote super sentences on post it notes and placed them in the correct places on the map.

We reminded ourselves of some of our arguments for and against by watching the video clips we filmed last week.

We then read our arguments to the class, and discussed whether each group had used appropriate connectives, argument devices, rhetorical questions, and had understood the structure of a balanced argument.
