Today we had another visit from the S.A.F.E. team. P.C. Daniells, who is our Community Police Officer, came to talk to us about Street Corner Culture.
She asked us these questions:
Where do groups of young people meet in their spare time?
What are the problems often associated with meeting in groups?
What groups in the community do you affect by gathering?
We also talked about peer pressure and held a role play in which Jenna was persuaded to smoke by her peers. She managed to resist!
We also talked about ASBOs.
We learned that we could receive an ASBO for:
Swearing.
Stealing.
Playing football in the street.
Throwing stones.
As well as more serious crimes.
We used COMMUNICATION and THINKING skills during this session.
